The Role
Our hiring moves fast. The application takes about 2 minutes, an approval answer comes back in about 30, and orientation is a single day in Chicago Ridge. The Onboarding Specialist is what keeps that speed from breaking: once a driver is approved, everything between the yes and the first load is yours.
That means lining up the drug screen with safety, collecting every document orientation needs, arranging travel to Chicago, and making sure the truck, the paperwork and the people are ready when the driver walks in.
What You’ll Do
- Take approved drivers over from recruiting and own their file until the first dispatch
- Coordinate the pre-employment drug screen with safety and track the results
- Collect orientation documents — CDL, medical card, work authorization, EIN letter and direct-deposit details
- Arrange travel to Chicago and each driver’s arrival for orientation
- Schedule orientation and confirm with maintenance that the truck is ready
- Work with HR on business-entity setup for drivers who need one
- Keep drivers updated at every step, by text and phone
- Make sure safety has a complete file before the first dispatch
- Track each driver’s progress and flag anything that stalls
What You Bring
- Organized and quick — you manage several drivers at once
- Clear, friendly communication by phone and text
- Comfortable with documents, scheduling and online systems
- Calm when plans change — flights get delayed and results run late
A Plus, Not Required
- Experience in trucking, recruiting, HR, dispatch or customer service
- Familiarity with DOT drug testing and driver paperwork
- Tenstreet experience
