The Role
Once a load is booked, someone has to know where it is until it delivers. That is you: you follow our trucks in transit, keep customers and brokers updated, keep ETAs honest, and raise a flag the moment an appointment is at risk.
You work between dispatch, our drivers and the people waiting on the freight. Our trucks run Samsara, so much of the location data is already there — the job is turning it into clear, fast updates, and catching what the data alone will not tell you.
What You’ll Do
- Track every assigned load from pickup to delivery
- Send status updates and ETAs to customers and brokers — by phone, email and their tracking portals
- Check in with drivers on location, delays and appointment times
- Flag late pickups, missed appointments and delays to dispatch early
- Record arrival and departure times accurately — they decide detention for the customer and the driver
- Collect bills of lading and proof of delivery, and pass them to billing
- Keep load statuses current in our systems
- Help drivers get set up on broker tracking apps when a load requires one
What You Bring
- Organized and detail-oriented — you follow many loads at once
- Clear, professional communication by phone, email and text
- Comfortable with computers, tracking tools and spreadsheets
- Calm under pressure when a load runs late
A Plus, Not Required
- Trucking, logistics, dispatch or customer service experience
- Experience with broker tracking apps (MacroPoint, FourKites or Trucker Tools)
- Samsara or another telematics platform
